Dora Chu comes from the lineage of atelier artists, who believe in the importance of true craftsmanship and quality. A graduate of Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London, Dora studied fashion in women’s wear and got a BA in the year 2006 Fascinated with the portrayal of feminism, she draws inspirations from the female shape and utilizes both traditional and modern techniques to redefine the meaning of elegant ladies wear. Each Dora Chu piece marks the work of a true atelier – exquisite and handcrafted with a careful attention to detail. Such can be seen in her signature diaphanous dresses, which mix impeccable tailoring, beadings, intricate draping techniques and accentuating origami pleating Dora has interned at British luxury fashion house Alexander McQueen and her dresses continue to be a favorite among celebrities. With a ever growing presence in the local fashion scene, Dora launched her very own eponymous atelier and studio in 2010 which specialize in high fashion evening dresses and gown wear.
