Astore story began in Padua, in north-east Italy, in 1929 when Pietro Bertacco, a craftsman in the leather industry, established one of the first modern fashion companies in Veneto. Pietro promptly proved his ability in craftsmanship making with passion leather handbags with a unique style in line with the fashion taste of his time. The great competence and expertise led him to be from the beginning one of the most successful Italian craftsmen of the time. His leather purses, wallets and belts became popular in the Italian market. His business enjoyed a flourishing period of expansion, and his competence was awarded in 1975 by the President of the Italian Republic by receiving the title of “Cavaliere del Lavoro”.

Pietro's son Mario continued the father's path with the same spirit and enthusiasm. He moved the headquarters in Mirano, within the province of Venice, where Astore products are still produced. Mario gives new vivacity to his bags, looking for new materials and solutions.
